Punjab's former Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal was discharged from a private hospital on August 14. He had been admitted after he was allegedly attacked by a Nihang inside the Hazur Sahib Gurudwara premises in Nanded, Maharashtra, on Thursday. After leaving the hospital, Badal said that he was not afraid of anyone and reaffirmed his commitment to Punjab's unity, brotherhood, and pride. He said such incidents would not deter him from standing by his principles and his responsibility towards the people of Punjab. The incident has also raised questions over security arrangements at the religious premises.
पंजाब के पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री और शिरोमणि अकाली दल के प्रमुख सुखबीर सिंह बादल को 14 अगस्त को एक निजी अस्पताल से छुट्टी दे दी गई। गुरुवार को महाराष्ट्र के नांदेड स्थित हजूर साहिब गुरुद्वारा परिसर में एक निहंग द्वारा कथित तौर पर हमला किए जाने के बाद उन्हें अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। अस्पताल से बाहर आने के बाद सुखबीर सिंह बादल ने कहा कि वह किसी से डरने वाले नहीं हैं। उन्होंने पंजाब की एकता, भाईचारे और गौरव के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई। बादल ने कहा कि ऐसी घटनाएं उन्हें अपने सिद्धांतों और पंजाब के लोगों के प्रति जिम्मेदारी से पीछे नहीं हटा सकतीं। घटना के बाद सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को लेकर भी सवाल उठे हैं। पुलिस ने हमले के आरोपी को हिरासत में लेकर मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है। सुखबीर बादल के समर्थकों ने उनके जल्द स्वस्थ होने पर राहत जताई और उनके साथ एकजुटता दिखाई।
